Perhaps it was the influence of Buddhism. Thai people take things easy and they are kind to strangers. They are always cheerful no matter whether in success or in adversity.

Thai people have lived in their motherland for centuries in happiness and contentment. Another significant trait of the Thai nation - their love of peace. their exceptional ability to co-exist with people of different ethnic groups, different religions, different political views and different social classes.  In Thai history, there have been no religious wars.

A similar selection can be made with museums. The National Museum is excellent and comprehensive, but as impressive in their own way are the Jim Thompson House, Vimanmek Mansion and Suan Pakkad Palace

Cruising on the Chao Phraya river and the remaining canals which once made Bangkok the “Venice of the East” offers a glimpse of traditional lifestyles, affording insights into the history and character of this wondrous city

Pattaya is the premier beach resort in Thailand. Its main attraction lies in its liberated, almost legendary, resort ambiance. Located 90 miles southeast of Bangkok, this bustling metropolis has shot up during the past 35 years of being built used primarily as a vast recreational resort catering for the US Armed Forces during the Vietnam War At that time period international tourism kicked in and during the l970s development soared, Pattaya became the massive entertainment center it is today, quite" literally, whatever people want, by day or night, they can get it in Pattaya.

Pattaya offers all sorts of recreations other than diving, which should keep the non-divers happy. Seafood restaurants and discos add spice at night; other sea sports include dinghy sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing and game fishing. Apart from that, there is everything from beachside fun parks for kids to shooting galleries and archery ranges to elephant farms and horseback riding.

For scuba diving, Pattaya is the oldest developed area and offers some of the most exotic dive sites in Southeast Asia The region has one of the richest marine faunas on Earth. Conditions for coral growth are ideal, with an average prevailing sea temperature of about 29 degrees Celsius and clear waters. Spectacular underwater prospects are shown off to their best advantage, under what are often superb conditions of visibility, in waters so ~warm the diver doesn't need a wet suit! Another advantage of the Pattaya area: it has a 12-month diving season. Unlike some other places in Thailand where the underwater attractions themselves may be generally better or poor depending on the seasons, the quality of diving around Pattaya is much the same throughout the year.
